CONSUMER AFFAIRS DISCLAIMER STATEMENT
The Association makes every reasonable effort to insure that contractors listed in Register are properly licensed and have the necessary liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
Under no circumstances does the Association recommend ANY contractors or vendors. However, a listing of Registered contractors and vendors is available on line by clicking the link on the left.
A file consumer comments on each contractor or vendor is available for your review only in the CA office.
NOTE: It is recommended that you never pay any upfront money to a contractor who says he needs to buy materials before starting the job. Reputable contractors have a credit line for materials. No more than 25% of the total cost should be paid before the work starts. The balance, less 20% should not be paid until the completion of the job. The remaining 20% should be withheld until the acceptance of the quality of the job is agreed on by the homeowner and the contractor.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO SUN CITY CENTER RESIDENTS
FROM SUN CITY CENTER COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION CONSUMER AFFAIRS
Please be aware of door-to-door and telephone solicitations. A number of scams are taking place every day. Unscrupulous vendors are promoting services and products with disastrous results to our residents.
Do not pay a vendor in advance or before the work is completed to your satisfaction.
Your Community Association urges everyone to check the Consumer Affairs Register when selecting a business or contractor to perform any type of work around your home.
If you are not satisfied with a contractor’s work, please contact Consumer Affairs to fill out a complaint form.
