There are many opportunities to stay healthy and fit in the community. The Fitness Center is open all day long with music played to keep you moving. To use the Fitness Center, all persons must display their valid ID card issued by the CA. Guests must be accompanied by a member unless a pass has been issued by the CA Office for a nominal weekly fee allowing unescorted attendance. Proper clothing and footwear is required. Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the facility.

AQUATIC FITNESS CLUB

Purpose: To promote health and recreation through water exercises and swimming. We sponsor swimming instructions and programmed water exercises to encourage non-swimmers to learn how to swim, and poor swimmers to become more proficient. This organization helps oversee a number of aquatic activities, and identifies needs for our indoor and outdoor pools in the central campus.

Membership: Open to all CA Members. Annual dues are $3.00.

Meetings: The pools are open to all CA Members; there is no need to join this club for recreational or therapeutic swimming, walking or exercise. Refer to the Membership Directory for the schedule for regular pool hours and regulations.

FITNESS CENTER COMMITTEE

Purpose: To operate the Fitness Center and promote health and fitness for our members. Everyone in the community is encouraged to use the exercise facilities to improve their well-being. The club offers instruction by volunteer trainers on the use of the many types of aerobic and anaerobic exercise machines at the facility. Classes are offered every Tuesday and Saturday at 2:00 PM to both males and females who are interested in using the equipment to improve their fitness. A one-time donation of $10.00 is requested

Meetings: An Annual Meeting is held in January to elect officers and discuss plans and programs of the club for the coming year.

Hours: The Fitness Center is operated every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. It is closed every Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM for cleaning. Call the Fitness Center at 642-2048 for specific daily operating hours.

FLEXERCISE & AEROBIC DANCE CLUB

Purpose: To gather on a regular basis to improve and maintain good health through a program of exercise and aerobic activities. The program offers flexability exercises (Flexercises) which include stretches, working with hand weights, and floor mat exercises. Low-impact Aerobic Dance set to music is also offered.

Membership: Open to all Community Association members. Annual dues are $16; single session guest fee is 50 cents per day.

Meetings: Flexercise meetings are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Community Hall from 8:00 - 8:45 AM . For those interested in staying, Aerobic Dance will continue from 8:50 - 9:20 AM . Flexercise and Aerobic Dance sessions are guided by a leader.

LOW-IMPACT AEROBICS

Purpose: To improve one's cardio-vascular system and to tone the body. Aerobic exercise can relieve stress and anxiety; improve the quality of sleep; increase the good cholesterol (HDL); reduce the risk of heart disease; relieve depression, and can slow the aging process.

Membership: Open to all Community Association Members and King's Point Members. Annual dues are $15.00. No previous experience is necessary

Meetings: Monday, Wednesday, Friday ..... 8:30 - 9:30 AM in the Dance Studio

Comment: Come and have fun while improving your health and figure all at the same time.

TRIMNASTICS

Purpose: To promote a healthier and happier life style in Sun City Center through stretch and tone exercise.

Membership: Open to all Community Association Members.

Meetings: Classes meet every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday year round starting at 9:30 AM in the outdoor plaza next to the Old Town Hall Rollins Theater. Stand-up exercises last one-half hour, and are done to music. Weather permitting, the classes meet in the outdoor plaza next to the Rollins Theater.

YOGA

Purpose: Hatha Yoga includes a wide range of exercises, postures, asanas, and relaxation and breathing techniques. Retired people will find the exercises help them stay supple, energetic and optimistic.

Membership: All Members of the Community Association are welcome. Beginners proceed at their own pace. There is no charge; no dues.
