DANCE & MUSIC CLUBS
Dancing opportunities are available through several clubs that focus on different forms of dancing, including swim dancing. All CA Members are eligible to join any dance club subject to certain limitations imposed by the club.
Music interests can also be enjoyed. Several clubs are available to members who are interested in music and want to play an instrument, sing in an organized group, or just pursue an interest in gathering for discussion and listening.

ACADEMY OF BALLROOM DANCE
Purpose: To encourage Ballroom Dancing and to foster the knowledge, proficiency and especially the enjoyment of Ballroom Dancing by providing a monthly Dance and Dance Lessons taught by professionally trained instructors
Membership: Membership is open to residents who are members of S.C.C.A. as well as residents of King’s Point. Annual dues are $50 per couple or $25 per person. This includes admission to the monthly dances and attendance to the February Dinner Dance. Guests are welcome and may attend by paying fee of $5 per dance.
Meetings: Dances are held at Community Hall from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on the first Saturday of each month. Gentlemen are requested to wear jackets (ties optional) October thru April. Casual dress (no shorts please) is acceptable during the summer months.
Mini Lessons are taught preceding the monthly Dances. $2.50 per person.
Regular Lessons are held in the Atrium Dance Studio Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons. $5 per person.
BIG BAND CLUB
Purpose: To foster dancing and listening to music of the Big Band Era.
Membership: $5.00 per person per season year for current paid Sun City Center Community Association, Kings Point, Courtyards, Sun Towers and Aston Gardens association member residents.
The SCC Big Band Club sponsors eight dances to the music of the 18-piece Sun City Center Big Band. Dances will be held approximately once a month during the 2008/2009 fall and winter season.
There is a Dress Code for all dances: Dressy attire for women; coat and tie for men. BYOB.
Season Tickets are $59.00 per person, which includes the $5.00 per person season membership. The maximum number of persons to a table is limited to 10 due to Fire Marshall Code. Only current paid members of the Sun City Center Community Association, Kings Point, Courtyards, Sun Towers, or Aston Garden Association members are eligible to purchase season tickets or memberships. Eight to 10 season ticket holders may reserve a table for the season. All other association members and their guest(s) can purchase tickets at the door for $9.00 per person on a space available basis.

BOOM BA DANCE CLUB
Purpose: The sole purpose is to provide the men/women of Sun City Center a casual atmosphere for all those who enjoy fun filled evenings of music and dancing and new friendships.
Membership: Membership and participation in the club is open to all residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point.
Meetings: The location of meetings and dates thereof will be established by the officers of the club in conjunction with the Community Association who designate available space. Contact the President of the club for dates.
DINNER DANCE CLUB
Purpose: The object of this club shall be to provide a forum for interested social dancers of the various areas of Sun City Center, as permitted by these By-laws herein and concurrently with the rules, procedures, and By-laws of the Sun City Center Community Association, Inc.
Membership: Membership in the Club shall be from submitted names of “couples” interested in active and social dancing that have either individually applied in writing or been submitted in writing by current members in good standing. A couple is defined as a man and woman, married or unmarried and both primarily being CA registered residents of Sun City Center.
Meeting: Meet on the first Thursday of each month – October through May, unless changed due to holiday schedules or unexpected events beyond the club’s control. Notice of meeting times and dates shall be published annually and issued to each membership couple each dance year.
FOXY SENIORS DANCE CLUB
Purpose: The sole purpose is for dancing, enjoyment and relaxation.
Membership: Membership is open to the residents of Sun City Center, Kings Point and their guests.
Meeting: An annual meeting shall be held in June of each year. Reevaluation of dues and voting on any business that may be pertinent to the club.
JAZZMATAZZ
Purpose: The purpose of the club shall be to promote and encourage the learning of jazz dancing.
Membership: Membership is open to all members in good standing of the Sun City Center Community Association.
Meetings: A general membership meeting shall be held at least once a year during November or December. The President shall set the date of this annual meeting. Contact the president of the club for regular meetings.
MOONGLOW BALLROOM DANCE CLUB
Purpose: To stimulate enthusiasm for ballroom dancing and encourage private or group instruction in the proper execution of ballrom dance steps. Various bands are utilized to provide live music.
Membership: Annual dues are $50.00 per couple, $25.00 per person Guests of members are permitted to attend monthly dances at a fee of $5.00 per person. Kings Point residents may also join.
Meetings: Dances are held the Fourth Thursday of each month in the Community Hall from 3:00 to 9:30 P.M. From January through December (12 dances per year), gentlemen are required to wear coat and tie.
OLDIES BUT GOODIES DANCE CLUB
Purpose: The club offers an opportunity for couples who love to dance to spend an evening each month dancing to the music of the 50's, 60's and 70's and to socialize with others.
Meetings: Dances are held once a month in the Community Hall from 7 PM - 10 PM.
Dress is casual. Singles are welcomed. Music is provided by local entertainers. The cost of the dance is $5.00 for guests. Members pay a yearly fee of $25.00.

SOLO LINE DANCE CLUB
Purpose: To provide a low impact high energy way to get great exercise, meet a lot of people, and have a good time.
Membership: Open to CA and KP members. Annual dues are $15.00 or $1.00 per session.
Meetings: Dances are held on Mondays at 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Community Hall. Dress code is comfortable clothing and shoes.
SCC DANCE CLUB
Purpose: To promote Ballroom Dancing by conducting dances on a regular basis and on special occasions, and to encourage other ballroom dance activities.
Membership: Open to all CA Members. Annual dues are $15.00 for CA Members; $20.00 for Kings Point residents. Guests may attend the monthly dance parties; a donation of $3.00 per person is requested.
Meetings: Dances, always with a live band, are held the Third Wednesday of each month, year round, in Community Hall from 8:00 - 10:00 PM.
Comments: From October through April, gentlemen are required to wear shirt, tie and jacket. At other times, casual dress is appropriate (sport shirt and slacks, no shorts). Always wear comfortable dancing shoes.
SCC LINE DANCE CLUB
Purpose: To provide a Line Dance Club for people who like to Dance, for people who like good music, and a great way to get your exercise. This organization makes it possible to learn and practice all levels of line dancing from Novice, to Beginners, to Intermediate-Advanced.
Membership: Open to all Sun City Center and Kings Point Members.
Annual Membership dues for Line Dancing $5.00 per year. Members admission of $1.00 per session. Guests $2.00 per session

SUN COUNTRY DANCE CLUB
Purpose: To learn and enjoy country dance steps. Dancing to country music is a fun way to meet people, to enjoy an afternoon with people who have similar interests, and get good exercise. An instructor will demonstrate each dance and will teach new steps that may seem difficult. Sometimes a circle, partner or contra dance is included for variety -- something new each week for beginners or advanced dancers.
Membership: Open to all Members of the CA. Annual dues are $10.
Meetings: Each Thursday afternoon starting at 2:00 PM in the Little Theater, Old Town Hall building.
SWIM DANCERS
Purpose: The club provides an opportunity to learn and master the skills of synchronized swimming.
Membership: Open to all women CA members who meet certain criteria of swimming skills.
Meetings: Lap pool (in Atrium Building) Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30-9 PM, Fridays 7:30-9 AM all year round. Walk-through practice Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 PM November through two weeks preceding Easter.
SWINGERS SQUARE DANCE CLUB
The club offers an opportunity for members to practice square dancing, learn new steps and techniques, meet with people who have similar interests, have a lot of fun and get exercise. Many couples have formed lasting friendships over the years of dancing in this club. The club has been in existance at Sun City Center since 1968 making it one of the longest standing clubs in the community.
Classes in Basic and Mainstream dancing are offered every Tuesday beginning at 7 PM. Plus Level dancing with rounds is held every Friday beginning at 7 PM. Professional callers and cuers are used at all of our dances.
All dances are held in Community Hall.
THE TIME STEPPERS (Tap Dance Club)
Purpose: The club provides an opportunity to obtain great aerobic exercise while having a great deal of fun working out with people who have similar interests in tap dancing. Classes in tap dancing are offered on a regular basis and at each meeting tap dancing routines are rehearsed at both the single and group level. The club is often asked to perform at Sun City Center events as part of the entertainment program.
Membership: Open to all women CA Members. Annual dues are $10.00.
Meetings: Mondays 10:15-11:30 AM, and Fridays 9:45-11:00 AM at the Little Theatre in Old Town Hall in the Central Campus.
Meetings: Monthly sessions are held in the Florida Room on the First Monday, October thru May, starting at 7:00 PM. Each session includes recorded music of a featured artist and live commentary by a knowledgeable speaker. Featured artists are announced in the local newspaper on the prior Wednesday. All residents of Sun City Center are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Reservations are not required and attire is casual.
Membership: Open to all CA Members and to Kings Point residents on a space-available basis, upon payment of annual dues.
MEN'S CHORUS
The Men's Chorus provides an opportunity for men who like to sing to get together to share their skill and talent with others and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with singing in a chorus. The Chorus is one of the pioneer musical groups of our community.
The group makes eight to ten appearances between November and April, singing a broad spectrum of music containing religious, musical comedy, spirituals, barbershop and many of the old standard male chorus numbers.
Rehearsals are held each Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Little Theater. Rehearsals usually begin in September and continue into April. If you have sung in a church choir, college glee club, community chorus or any other vocal group, you are welcome to come and sing. There are no tryouts and no dues.
ORGAN & KEYBOARD CLUB
Purpose: The club provides an excellent opportunity for members to meet other organ enthusiasts, to improve skills, and add music to a personal music library. Organ lessons are provided to beginners, intermediates and experts.
Membership: Open to all Members of the CA. Annual dues are $5.00 and there is a $2.00 charge per meeting to pay for the music covered in the lessons.
Meetings: Each Thursday morning, 9:30 - 11:00 AM, Florida Room in the Atrium Building.
