AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN
A.A.U.W. is a national organization which promotes equity for women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. Each month there is a luncheon, and many interest groups meet throughout the month. The local branch values and seeks a diverse membership. BRITISH CONNECTION
Purpose: The sole purpose is to bring together people who are either British, of British heritage or interested in Great Britain to enjoy various social activities.
Membership: Membership and participation in the club is open to all residents of Sun City Center.
Meetings: The location of meetings and events will be established by the officers of the club in conjunction with the Community Association who designate available space. Contact the President of the club for dates.
COMPUTER CLUB (IBM Compatible PC)
Purpose: Education, Information and Service to the computer community of Sun City Center. Beginners to experts enjoy the programs, classes, and Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings of the Computer Club
Membership: Participation in the club is open to all residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point. Annual dues include a subscription to the monthly newsletter.
Meetings: First Wednesday of every month at 7:30 PM at the Community Hall. These meetings feature industry speakers covering the latest hardware and software developments. Monthly SIG meetings cover topics of interest. Classes are offered ranging from Introduction to Computers to advanced, application-oriented sessions. A software library and the "help line" provide assistance to members. Classrooms and a laboratory are located in the Atrium building east wing.

COMPUTER CLUB (Macintosh User Group)
Purpose: Education, Information and Service to the Macintosh computer community of Sun City Center. Beginners to experts alike enjoy the programs, classes, and Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings.
Membership: Participation in the club is open to all residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point.
Meetings: Fourth Tuesday of every month in the Caper Room of the Atrium. A well stocked library and laboratory for Mac users is located in the Community Hall, Room #1

DAR
Purpose: To perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; by the acquisition and protection of historical spots and the erection of monuments; by the encouragement of historical research in relation to the American Revolution and the publication of its results; by the preservation of documents and relics; and of the records of the individual services of the Revolutionary soldiers and patriots; and by the promotion of the celebrations of all patriotic anniversaries.
Membership: An application for membership must be endorsed by two members in good standing to who the applicant is personally known. The name of the applicant, with the signatures of the endorsers, shall be submitted in writing to the Executive Board. A vote shall be taken by the Board and a majority shall elect.
Meetings: Unless otherwise ordered by the Chapter or by the Executive Board, regular meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of each month at 1 PM in the Florida Room from September to May inclusive.
DAV CHAPTER 110
Purpose: The purpose of this chapter is to support the program of the Disabled American Veterans as defined in the National Constitution and By-Laws.
Membership: Membership in this chapter shall conform with the requirements as set forth in the National Constitution and By-Laws of the Disabled American Veterans.
Meeting: The location of meetings and events will be established by the officers of the club in conjunction with the Community Association who designate available space. Contact the President of the club for dates.
DOG OWNERS GROUP
Purpose: Providing a focus group for activities and concerns of dog owners in the Sun City Center area, and for promoting the establishment and maintenance of a dog park in the Sun City Center area.
Membership: Open to all home owners or renters in the Sun City Center area.
Meeting: An annual membership meeting shall be held in December of each year for the purpose of electing officers for the following year, and for voting on any other business which may arise. Contact the President of the club for other meetings.
FUN SQUAD
Purpose: To promote neighborliness through planned group activities and social functions. The club fosters a positive social climate and activities for all members such as socials, card and game nites, walks, travel and pool social gatherings.
Membership: Open to all residents of Sun City Center, including Kings Point, Sun Towers Courtyards and Aston Gardens. Dues are $5.00 per person per year.
Meetings: Club members meet regularly throughout the year to participate in numerous activities. A general meeting is held once per year in November. An attempt is made to have one walk, one trip and one gathering around the pool each month. With few exceptions pool gatherings are on the 4th Friday of the month. GADABOUTS (Travel Club)
Purpose: To plan and arrange many trips throughout the year including local dinner theater events, LasVegas trips, and world-wide cruises and tours. The club arranges all transportation from Sun City Center and return. The cost of these trips are usually obtained at a significant reduction in cost because of group discounts. Travel on these trips is exclusively with Gadabout Members.
Membership: Open to all CA members. There is an initiation fee of $8.00 and the annual dues are $4.00. A newsletter containing upcoming trips and events is published and mailed to all members each month.
Meetings: Regular monthly meetings are held in the Caper Room starting at 10:00 AM on the Third Saturday of every month. Reservation payments, dues collection and information about upcoming trips and plans are discussed at these meetings. Ideas for trips are solicited and are welcome.
GERMAN AMERICAN CLUB
Purpose: The sole purpose is to bring together German Americans in the pursuit of cultivating the German heritage, culture, customs, and foster friendship among interested residents of the greater Sun City Center area.
Membership: Membership and participation in the club is open to all residents of Sun City Center.
Meetings: The location of meetings dates thereof will be established by the officers of the club in conjunction with the Community Association who designate available space. An annual general meeting will be held within the first quarter of the year, at which time the officers and directors of the club are elected for the ensuing year by the members present.
GUILD OF TECHNICAL & ELECTRONIC EXPERIMENTERS
Purpose: The Guilds purpose is to provide an educational environment in which its members may study the principles of electronic engineering theory and practice through formal instruction and self paced structured exercises in a classroom setting.
Membership: Restricted to those residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point. Membership is further restricted by the number of seats available for the Guilds use in their assigned meeting space. This number will be adjusted from time to time as the capacity of the meeting space changes.
- Seated Member – is a voting member who continually contributes to the synergism of the Guild by regularly participating in the Guilds on going educational program, and, who further agrees to relinquish their “assigned seat” in the event of their limited participation therein.
- Non Seated Member – is a non-voting member who, while listed chronology on FIFO waiting list maintained by the Secretary, wishes to become a “Seated Member” when a class room seat becomes available.
Meeting: Instructional Meetings are open to those then Seated Members will be conducted on a regular advertised schedule, at a time and place assigned to it by the CA for that purpose. Annual Meetings will be advertised and open to all Seated and Non Seated Members will be held yearly, on a day to be determined during the month of July, at a time and place assigned to it by the CA for that purpose
HANDICAPPED CLUB
Purpose: The purposes for which this club is organized are:
- To welcome new and established disabled residents and other interested persons.
- To make known to the community the needs of the physically disabled, primarily the mobility impaired.
- To seek the removal of architectural barriers which prohibit participation of the physically disabled and to encourage the construction and implementation of barrier-free facilities.
- To campaign for improved mobility impaired accessibility in the community.
- To create with the community a better understanding of the disabled.
Membership: Membership in this club shall be open to all residents of Sun City Center and Kings Point.
Meeting: The club shall meet on the second Saturday of the month every month with the meeting place to be determined at each meeting or upon notification.
HISTORY SOCIETY OF GREATER SCC
The objectives of this organization are to compile records and photographs of the greater Sun City Center area, to maintain an archive of historical records, and to publish reference books and other publications documenting the history of the region for research and enjoyment of current and future residents and others. Membership is open to every member of the Sun City Center Community Association who have an interest in preserving the history of our community.
Meetings are held on an ad hoc basis throughout the year. Guests are welcome; no advanced request is needed to attend any meeting.
INDIANA CLUB
Purpose: The purpose of the club shall be to provide a manes by which former Indiana residents living in Sun City Center can keep in touch with each other and enjoy planned activities together.
Membership: Members of the club shall be persons who have lived at any time in the state of Indiana and who now live in Sun City Center.
Meeting: There shall be an annual meeting of the club. The location of meetings dates thereof will be established by the officers of the club in conjunction with the Community Association who designate available space.
INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF SCC
Purpose: The purpose of the International Forum is to facilitate the interchange of experience and ideas on international issues, U. S. foreign relations, and the political, economic, and cultural characteristics of other countries.
Membership: Membership and participation in the club is open to Sun City Center Community Association members and Kings Point residents.
Meeting: Program meetings will be scheduled at monthly intervals during the September to May season. The location and timing of meetings will depend on the availability of meeting rooms. An annual business meeting for the election of officers and members of the Executive Committee and any other business will be held within the first quarter of each calendar year.
INVESTMENT CLUB
The objectives of this club are (1) to educate its members in financial investing, a great deal of which can be applied in the member's personal financial program and (2) to purchase conservative growth stocks.
Meetings are held in the Sandpiper Room of the Atrium Building on the third Friday of each month starting at 9:00 AM. Guests are welcome; no advanced request is needed to attend any meeting.
Membership is available by purchasing a share of club investments, and paying $25.00 per month dues for investment purposes. Potential members must attend at least three (3) meetings before becoming members and, as members, are expected to participate in the club's activities and operation.
Kayak Club
Purpose: Enjoyment and exercise while exploring the waterways around our area.
Membership: Open to all CA and Kings Point members. No annual dues. Each person should furnish their own kayak and equipement.
Meetings: Meet at NW corner of Winn Dixie parking lot at 9AM on Thursdays and travel from there to trip location
LAFF A LOT
Purpose: Entertainment/Health - Laughter is the best medicine.
Membership: Membership in this club is a right given as a result of membership in the Community Association.
Meetings: Meetings will be held monthly September through April. Contact the President for date, time and location.
LOW VISION
Purpose: Providing a focus group for activities and concerns of persons with low vision in the Sun City Center area. Sighted persons will be welcomed as members.
Membership: Membership in this club shall be open to all home owners or renters in the Sun City Center area.
Meetings: An annual membership meeting shall be held in December of each year for the purpose of electing officers for the following year, and for voting on any other business which may arise. Contact the President for regularly scheduled meetings.
MAN-TO-MAN
Purpose: A SCC Men's Club public service that provides fraternal support and accurate information concerning prostate cancer for any man. All men should be knowledgeable, whether or not they have prostate cancer. As of the end of 2001, there are about 175,000 new cases, and aproximately 25,000 deaths from prostate cancer every year in America.
Meetings: The second Monday of every month, 2:00 P.M., at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, in the Activities Room. Prominent medical experts discuss pertinent topics and answer the questions from the 50 to 100 monthly participants. Wives are encouraged to come. A monthly newsletter, mailed now to more than 450 men, summarizes the proceedings.
Participation: Any and all men, and their significant others, are welcome - from SCC, Kings Point, and anywhere else. No charge.
MASTER SWIMMERS CLUB
Purpose: To promote health and recreation through water exercise and swimming for the residents of Sun City Center.
Membership: Membership is open to all individual members in good standing of the Sun City Center Community Association.
Meetings: General membership meetings will be held twice a year, the second Wednesday of April and the second Wednesday of November. Contact the President for regularly scheduled meetings.
MEN'S CLUB
Purpose: To provide and promote cultural, social, recreational and civic interest, and to cooperate with other clubs and organizations in the best interest of Sun City Center. Among its current projects is (as of October 2007) the installation of over 600 Lifeline Medical Alert systems for area residents; "Man-to-Man", a continuing support and educational program on prostate cancer; sponsorship of the Parkinson's Support Group; educational seminars; and a number of community improvement programs around town.
Meetings: Regular meetings are held in Community Hall on the third Wednesday of each month for lunch, starting at 11:30 AM. A modest fee is charged for the lunch.
Membership: Any male resident of Sun City Center or Kings Point may be a member by paying the annual dues of $20.00.
Comment: Twice a year a Ladies' Luncheon is scheduled.
MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATES
Our organization consists of retired and working mental health professionals who have come together to provide assistance and support. This includes referrals to mental health professionals and agencies in our area; assisting in developing mental health services needed in our community; improving communications and coordination among local mental health organizations; sponsoring the development of support groups dealing with a variety of mental health issues; and providing a program of mental health education for residents to raise the level of awareness about mental health of our aging population.
Monthly meetings are held on the third Monday of every month at 9:00 AM. For information on the location of meetings or to inquire about any mental health issue, call 634-6536 or 633-8490. Any retired mental health professional is invited to join us.
METAPHYSICAL SOCIETY
Purpose: To bring together metaphysical thinkers and to study metaphysics.
Membership: Open to all Community Association members willing to respect each other's views and differences.
Meetings: Wednesdays, 10:00 AM - Noon, Heritage Room at the Atrium

MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA
Purpose: Support four scholarships – Present awards to outstanding JROTC Cadets at four area high schools – Coordinate the SCC Memorial Day remembrances and participate in several other community activities.
Membership Eligibility: All veteran and active duty members of armed forces as well as National Oceanic and Atmospheric Admin., Public Health and National Guard Reserve members and widows and widowers of former MOAA members.
Meetings: Meets at 11 a.m. on 1st Wednesday of each month in Florida Room in the Atrium Building. Lunch provided for a nominal fee followed by speaker.
MILITARY ORDER OF THE WORLD WARS (MOWW)
Purpose: The objectives of the Chapter are those exemplified in the Preamble to the National constitution of the Military Order of the World Wars.
Membership: Eligibility for membership in the Chapter shall be as provided by Article II of the National Constitution of the Order.
Meetings: Regular Chapter meetings shall be held monthly as well as Chapter Staff meetings, each at a time and place designated by the Chapter Staff. Contact the President for date, time and location.
MINI-BUS
Purpose: To provide bus transportation to nearby commercial areas and entertainment centers for those who may be unable to drive or prefer not to.
Membership: Open to all CA Members. Annual dues are $10. In addition there is a one-time initiation fee of $25 for the first family member, and $10 for each additional person at the same mailing address.
Committees are formed from within the membership to arrange trips to dinner theaters, musical and dramatic shows, sporting events, and area attractions in accordance with the members' desires. Additional fees are required for the tickets to special events.
Meetings: One annual meeting held the third Monday of February.
Comments: Regular shopping trips are scheduled weekly and special trips are scheduled monthly.
NEW ENGLAND CLUB
Purpose: The purpose of this club is social.
Membership: Membership and participation in this club is open to all residents of Sun City Center who carry a valid CA Membership card.
Meetings: The location of meetings and dates thereof, will be established by the officers of the club. Contact the President for scheduled meetings.
NORTH LAKE YACHT CLUB
Purpose: The object of the club shall be the promotion of yachting, the sociability among its members, and the improvement of North Lake for boating purposes.
Membership: Any person of good character living on North Lake, and being a member of good standing with the Sun City Center Community Association, recommend by one club member and seconded by another member may be proposed.
Meetings: The Annual Meeting shall be held during the month of November and shall be called by the Commodore. Contact the President for scheduled meetings.
OHIO CLUB
Purpose: The purpose of the club is to provide former residents of Ohio now living in Sun City Center a means to keep in touch with each other and to promote fund and friendship.
Membership: Membership and participation in the club is open to any resident of Sun City Center who has lived in Ohio at some point in their life or is married to someone who has lived in Ohio at some point in their life.
Meetings: The location of meetings and dates will be published by the officers of the Club in conjunction with the Community Association, which designates available meeting space.
PANHELLENIC CLUB
Purpose: The purpose of this club is to provide a means for local college sorority sisters to meet monthly for luncheon and bridge.
Membership: Membership is open to all national Greek letter college sorority women who live in Sun City Center.
Meetings: Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month except July, August, and September. Call President for location.
PATRIOTS CLUB
Purpose: The purpose of this club is to promote national loyalty to our country by sponsoring, promoting, and supporting patriotic projects and/or activities in and around Sun City Center that enhance public spirit and inspiration; in particular, those projects and/or activities involving the display of and respect for the flag of the United State of America.
Membership: The club is open to membership for members of the Community Association and, at the club’s discretion, residents of Kings Point who desire to join.

PHILANTHROPIC EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION
Purpose: The purpose of the organization is to award scholarships.
Membership: Membership shall consist of active members of the P.E.O. Sisterhood who are residents of Sun City Center.
Meetings: Regular meetings shall be held monthly from November 1st to May 1st. Meetings shall be held at the time and place designated in the yearbook. The time and place may be changed with the consent of the President and Secretary, provided all members are notified.
QUESTERS - NAUTILUS CHAPTER #909
Purpose: To stimulate the appreciation and collecting of antiques and to encourage the preservation and restoration of historical landmarks.
Membership: Open to all residents of Sun City Center and Kings’ Point. Annual dues are $25.00
Meetings: Second Wednesday of each month at 2:00 P.M., October through to May inclusive unless otherwise indicated in our program. Members may also attend the International Convention (held in early May). The Florida Convention in November and Spring Council Meeting in March.
Silver Striders Running Club
Purpose: To provide comaraderie and assistance in training while enjoying the sports of running and triathlons.
Membership: Open to all CA members. No annual dues.
Meetings: Casual group meets for runs at 8 AM on Tues, Thurs, and Sat. in front of Fitness Center. (Time may change seasonally
TAX AIDE CLUB
Purposes: To provide a social club for CA Members who are interested in volunteering to help others file basic federal tax returns. Club members provide free services to prepare Federal Form 1040 tax returns for CA Members and low income families in the greater Sun City Center area. The primary focus is on the current tax year, on returns that can be e-filed (by computer), and on returns with less complex issues as time and circumstances allow.
Membership: Open to CA Members interested in tax preparation or in providing other assistance during the tax season. Tax counselors will be required to take a week-long class and pass an open-book test to qualify to prepare tax returns. Members are required to serve at least one hour during the tax season. Members are not required to pay dues.
Meetings: Informal meetings are held during the fall planning period, the January training period, and during the season as necessary. An annual meeting is scheduled at the close of the tax season to evaluate the season and set goals for next season. The club is normally inactive from May to November.

VETERANS
Major veterans organizations in The Sun City Center include those described below.
American Legion Post 246 holds meetings at the Community Hall, on the last Friday of the following months: January, March, May, July, and September ( November date to be announced). Meetings start at 9:30 a.m. preceeded at 9:00 a.m. with coffee and donuts. All veterans are welcome to attend/join Post 246. Mail all inquiries to P.O. Box 5803, Sun City Center, Florida 33573.
Island X-16 (Seabees) meets the first Thursday of the month in the Lakeside Restaurant in Lake Towers. The meetings start at 8:00 a.m. with coffee and rolls, followed by a general business meeting. The Island holds several social functions during the year and also joins in the Seabee Reunions and Conventions, both in the Department of Florida and in the National Organization. The Leathernecks Club is open to veterans of the U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Navy Corpsmen who served with the Marines. Meetings are at 6:30 PM the third Tuesday of every month in the Sandpiper Room. Each year, the Leathernecks joins with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to conduct the Toys for Tots campaign in South Hillsborough County to brighten the Christmas holiday season for children in our area who might otherwise go without. However, the primary purpose of the club is fellowship and sharing of experiences with fellow Marines. The club offers several social events each year, highlighted by the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball. For information, call Commander Jim Glass at 633-4298.
VFW Post 1288 is open to veterans who participated in wars on foreign soil. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at 9:00 AM in the Sandpiper Room. Dues are $22.00 per year. The purpose of the meetings is to gather for social purposes and to plan activities for providing services to veterans. These services include support and assistance to veterans hospitalized at the area VA hospital, raising money for veteran programs, organizing Memorial Day Services to honor veterans who gave their lives in the service of their country, and other worthwhile veteran service activities. WOMAN'S CLUB
Purpose: Our club work enables individuals to develop an overall awareness and deeper perspective of community, state and national affairs that can affect our quality of life. We provide scholarships for needy local students and donations for several local organizations by means of a luncheon style show, variety show and an annual bridge party.
Membership: Open to Community Association members. Annual dues are $15.00. Members of the Florida Federation of Woman's Clubs are members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, the largest and oldest non-denomination, non-partisan international organization of volunteer women in the world.
Meetings: Third Thursdays, 1:00 PM, September through May. Programs cover a wide range of topics including health care, music, conservation, and international affairs.
WRITERS CLUB
Purpose: To promote the art of creative writing by sharing experiences in writing, to encourage, and to learn from each other. Reading and critiquing members' original work is the focal point of each meeting. All types of writing are explored. Beginning and professional writers, those who write for their own enjoyment, those who have published and those who hope to publish are welcome. All we require is a love for the printed word.
Membership: Any resident of Sun City Center is eligible. Club dues are $10.00 per year.
Meetings: The first and third Tuesday of each month in the Swan Room (Old Town Hall building in the central campus) starting at 2:00 PM.
ROD & REEL
The Rod and Reel Club meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the Kings Point Clubhouse, South Social room. All fishermen are welcome to come and talk about the big one that got away. Contact Skip Watson 634-7119.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE ("RV") CLUB
Purpose: To provide volunteer management of a parking compound provided by the community developer (WCI) for secure storage of boats and RVs.
Membership: CA members pay $82.50 per year for a parking space assigned by the Yardmaster. Current registration on boat trailers and RV's is required. Members mow their own space and join work parties as requested by the Yardmaster.
Meetings: One annual meeting is held in December for general discussion of needs and the election of officers.
REGISTERED NURSES
The R.N. Club was formed in 1972 to promote fellowship among its members, and to promote and assist with health-related programs that are of benefit to the community. The club in cooperation with the Kiwanis Club, provides a blood-pressure clinic every first and third Monday of every month in the Florida Room in the Atrium Building.
Any Registered Nurse, active or inactive, resident in Sun City Center, is eligible for membership.
Monthly meetings, with programs, are held on the first Thursday of each month from October through May.
